Welcome Junior Members

Welcome to the Junior Members Zone – a special place just for our young enthusiasts! If you're under 16 and love music, machines, or anything that goes toot-toot, you're in the right spot.

 What is a Mechanical Organ

Mechanical organs are amazing musical machines that play music using air, pipes, and clever mechanical parts. They can be big or small, and each one has its own special sound. Some are cranked by hand, some use paper rolls or cardboard books, and some even play themselves with motors!

Types of Mechanical Organs

  • Street Organs – These are often played on the streets and have a bright, cheerful sound. Some even have little dancing figures!
  • Fairground Organs – Big, bold, and colourful! These were made to be heard over the noise of a busy fair.
  • Dance Organs – These were used in dance halls and could play all kinds of music to make you move!
  • Handturned Organs – Small and portable, perfect for a performer and their cheeky monkey friend!
